Meandering between Lek and Linge

Winding between Lek and Linge is a cycling tour of 52 kilometers between Culemborg on the Lek and the Heerlijkheid Mariënwaerdt estate on the Linge near Beesd. This route meanders between the rivers Lek and Linge, past the impressive defenses of the New Dutch Waterline. Along the way you can enjoy the beautiful nature for which the Betuwe is so famous.
The Betuwe fruit garden has yet to wake up in early spring, but even without blossoms and colorful fruit there is much to enjoy along the way. If you start this junction route in Culemborg, you can get acquainted with the region in advance at two places. The Elisabeth Orphanage Museum in Culemborg tells about the history of the city and its surroundings. But if you want to please the cycling children, you can continue straight to Werk aan het Spoel. This is an old fortification on the Lek, now furnished as a place to play, get to know regional products, art and nature.
Via rural roads and winding dikes you will pass through tranquil villages such as Rhenoy and Acquoy, known for its leaning tower. You can of course also get off in Buren.
