Walking through Westerschouwen Forestry and along the beach

Put on your sturdy walking shoes for a walk at Burgh-Haamstede. First you walk a bit through the Zeepeduinen. The route then takes you through Boswachterij Westerschouwen. This is the largest forest in Zeeland; it was planted at the beginning of the twentieth century as part of job creation. Here you will find everything that makes walking fun: forests, dunes, heathland and silence! All you hear are birds or the rustling of the wind through the leaves. After a while you cross the dunes and continue walking along the beach. Breathe in the salty air, wonderful! Back in the forest you pass the Slapershil Lookout Tower. From the top you have a beautiful view. The route ends at Grand Hotel Ter Duin.
