Walk through the Zeepeduinen

Get to know the Zeepeduinen: a special nature reserve near Burgh-Haamstede. In this gently rolling nature reserve you mainly walk through rough open plains. Rare orchids and Parnassia grow in some dune valleys. About a hundred Shetland ponies graze in the Zeepeduinen. They eat dune reeds, young trees and tree bark. In this way they keep the area open. They also loosen the soil with their hooves, so that sand dunes are more easily created in which various insects and plants live. The further you walk into the dunes, the more you notice how quiet it is here! At most you will hear a bird: species such as the redstart, meadow pipit and curlew live here. After your walk, it is nice to relax at Grand Hotel Ter Duin. You are very welcome here for a snack and a drink!
