Old estates
On the edge of the village you pass the beautiful parks of a number of estates, such as Beerschoten and Vollenhoven. You also drive around Oostbroek, a former abbey and seigniory. Just outside Bunnik you drive through the grasslands of the Kromme Rijnstreek. Further on are two beautiful estates: Wulperhorst and Blikkenburg.
Austerlitz
After a small climb you drive into the heart of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. You cycle here for miles through a succession of different old forests. One moment you're riding under the canopy of stately beech trees, the next you're cycling between fragrant conifers. What a change. And also: what a silence! In between you will pass Austerlitz, a settlement founded in the early 1800s by the French occupiers.
