Through the woods and forests in Brabant

Between the North Brabant villages of Vught and Helvoirt you walk through a rural area where moist meadows alternate with wooded estates.

Helvoirts Trousers
The landscape below Helvoirt is a real trouser: a lower part. You will see many ditches that are fed with seepage water from the higher adjacent areas. The moist meadows are rich in flowers, but also in birds. Helvoirts Broek is one of the few real meadow bird areas in North Brabant. You will see lapwings, but also snipes: two birds that like to make spectacular flights.

Brabant estates
Just below Vught, on the edge of Helvoirts Broek, you walk across some former estates. This is how you get to Sparrendaal Estate. Until 1993, this area was in the hands of the Fathers of Scheut, missionaries who, after their training, went to Congo and Mongolia, among others. You walk through stately avenues where you can easily hear the many loudly calling nuthatches. There is unprecedented peace and quiet at the Jagershagen Estate. Here cultivated land and forest alternate.
