Tour of Hasselt, Genemuiden and Zwartsluis

Your route starts at Hotel & Restaurant Infinity. Today you will take a nice tour along beautiful old towns. Just before the Hanseatic city of Hasselt you drive over the Stenendijk along the Galgenrak. This monumental dike dates from the sixteenth century and provided protection against the Zuiderzee. In the heart of Hasselt, time seems to have stood still a bit thanks to the many old buildings that still stand here. From Genemuiden you can take a ferry: always fun, such a nostalgic crossing! Zwartsluis is located at the point where the Zwarte Water and the Meppelerdiep meet. This town was once the transit port for the transport of Drenthe peat to Holland. You will see some beautiful monumental buildings there. The Olde Maten is a beautiful peat meadow area with long rows of alders and swamp forest.
