Daydreaming in Rheeze
Rheeze is without a doubt one of the most beautiful village greens in Overijssel. Feel free to drive around the green. And another one. Or two. And get off to fully enjoy the charming view: centuries-old Saxon farms surrounded by meadows and stately old trees. A little further on are the Rheezer Belten, a striking strip of drifting dunes that is now largely forested.

Ommen on the Vecht
From the banks of the Vecht you have a beautiful view of the pleasant town of Ommen. A little further on you pass the esdorp Arriën where a work camp was located during the Second World War that was used as a buffer for Camp Westerbork. You also pass through the hamlets of Junne and Zeese that still largely consist of old thatched Saxon farms: a leap back in time. Even in the forests it sometimes seems as if you have ended up in the wrong time, it is so quiet and beautiful. At the end of your route you can refuel at Rheezerwold Camping't Vakantiepark.

Regional Museum Ommen
After crossing the Vecht in Ommen, you will pass Den Oordt, one of the few remaining hexagonal windmills in the Netherlands. This mill is said to have previously stood in Bathmen in the Zaanstreek. It was purchased in 1824 and transported to Ommen, after which the mill was rebuilt as a sawmill. Behind the mill was a pool in which trees were first watered before being sawn. In 1895, two pairs of millstones were installed and the new miller switched to the more lucrative milling of grain. The Ommen Regional Museum is located below the mill.
