Tour of Ommen, Regge and Vechtdal

Your route starts at Restaurant De Veldhoek. From here you cycle to Ommen, on the Overijsselse Vecht. Here in the Vechtdal you drive through a landscape of flowery meadows, hedgerows and quiet forests. Pay a visit to Eerde Castle in the middle of the woods, you will pass right by it. There used to be a beautiful manor near Egede, the name for a fortified homestead usually inhabited by nobles. This house was first mentioned in 1382. Only a few walls remain of this manor, which have now been integrated into a new farmyard. It is beautifully situated in the romantic Reggedal. In recent years, the area around this river has been extensively renovated to create more space for the river, nature and recreation. The Regge meanders again!
