Walking through Hoenderloo and the Schenkenshul

This route first takes you through Hoenderloo. This village was founded in 1839 by the efforts of Reverend Heldring. On his initiative, the Heldring Church was built: a striking white church that was completed in 1858. Further on, you walk along an unpaved path under the trees, and on the right you look out over grassy meadows. At junction 16, you walk onto the gently rolling heathland of the De Schenkenshul nature reserve. A lovely, quiet path where you can enjoy the natural beauty at your leisure. After a while, you walk through a dense deciduous forest, after which you walk along a quiet path past villas and farms back to Hoenderloo.
