This route takes you for a day through the Belgian Ardennes. On the slopes of the hills you drive through a bocage landscape and then again through pristine and quiet forests or along the banks of a lake. The picturesque villages are not lacking either.
Medieval fortress city
Walcourt is one of the nicer towns in Wallonia and it is located where the rivers Eau d\\\'Heure and the Yves meet. The picturesque center clearly bears the history of the medieval fortified town that Walcourt once was. The most famous landmark is the Basilica of St. Maternus. This huge structure was built between the thirteenth and seventeenth centuries. The church tower is no less than 63 meters high, you can see it from afar.
The lakes of l\\\'Eau d\\\'Heure
On part of the route you will cycle along the banks of the lakes of l\\\'Eau d\\\'Heure. These 5 lakes were created in the 1970s on the course of the river Eau d\\\'Heure. Such a large lake area is a rarity in such a hilly and green region. There are plenty of places to enjoy the view while enjoying a picnic.
