A sporty bike ride around Gimnée

Wooded hills, streams, authentic and cozy villages: the Ardennes are ideal for sporty bike rides in beautiful surroundings. This route takes you through the region close to the French border.

About a RAVeL
Part of the route takes you through the forest on the RAVeL (Réseau Autonome de Voies Lentes) between Mariembourg and Hoegaarden. The RAVeL is a Walloon project to create paths especially for slow traffic, such as cyclists. Cars are therefore not allowed here. Often a RAVeL runs on the route of a former railway line. You can pedal quietly here and enjoy the view carefree. That's enjoying it!

In the Walloon villages you will find ancient churches and characteristic stone houses. You will pass through beautiful villages such as Doische and Gochenée. You can always find a cozy terrace on the squares to stretch your legs with a nice snack and a drink.
