Description

Via Zevenhoven and Noordeinde you drive to De Hoef, a village on the Kromme Mijdrecht. Here you will see, among other things, the monumental Pondskoekersluis and the Anthony of Padua, a beautiful church from 1921. Cycling along the path along the meandering river, you will look out on old farms and polders that have subsided through centuries of subsidence. Further on you drive through Spengen and the characteristic cope landscape with its narrow and elongated plots. Kockengen enjoys a protected village view. Abrona Art & Coffee is located in an old church. Enjoy a delicious lunch here before cycling to the Kockengense Molen, a polder mill from 1675. Finally, you cycle along the winding Meije and the Nieuwkoopse Plassen, one of the last extensive low-lying peat areas in the Netherlands.
