Walking between Buren and Buurmalsen

Get to know Buren, a town with a rich history. There are many monuments here, and the ramparts are still largely intact. The route takes you past the fifteenth-century St. Lambertus Church where William of Orange married his first wife Anna van Buren. In the countryside you can walk along the banks of the Korne, a branch of the Linge. You look out over fruit orchards, grassy meadows and fields. You also pass the Burghmalsen estate. Further on you walk through the De Assche Wetering nature reserve. Here you will see meadows, an old winding watercourse and small forest plots where ash trees and poplars grow. Finally, you walk past the place where Buren Castle once stood. The canals and ramparts are still there. The route ends with something tasty at De Pannekoekenbakker Buren.
