Cycling to Wijk bij Duurstede and Maurik

Cycling through the Betuwe is always fun. The beautiful landscape and the quiet roads ensure that you can relax here. You cross the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal via the Princess Marijke locks. A little later you stand with your bike on a ferry to sail across the Lek, after which you ride through the historic city of Wijk bij Duurstede. In the Kromme Rijnstreek you cycle through the surroundings of Langbroek with its elongated plots and castles. Further on you can take a look at Amerongen Castle, after which you cross the Rhine via a small ferry. In Maurik you will pass De Beijenkorf, a flour mill from 1873. Around Kasteel Zoelen you will experience the atmosphere of times gone by, just like in Buren. Here you can grab a terrace at De Pannekoekenbakker Buren.
