Cycling through Maas-Swalm-Nette Border Park

From Beesel you drive a bit downstream along the Maas. You pass through Ronkenstein, which enjoys a protected village view because of its old farms. Further on you climb to the extensive forests of the Maas-Swalm-Nette Border Park. You cycle a large part through one of the German sub-areas of this border park, the Brachter Wald. You will experience a unique cycling experience here, because there is no motorized traffic in this former British ammunition depot. What a silence! When you cross the border into the Netherlands again, you descend via the Bosberg to the Beesels Broek, a humid nature reserve where many alders and poplars grow. On the Maas you pass the De Grauwe Beer flour mill. After getting off you can enjoy a delicious meal at Mert 5.
