Tour of Kop van Schouwen

From Renesse you first cycle to Scharendijke. Then you drive through the vast polders. You regularly see a characteristic farm, and you also pass't Hert, a corn mill from 1748. Just past Serooskerke you cycle along the Schelphoek. In the early 1900s, a harbor was built here to transport sugar beets. The flood disaster in 1953 devoured the harbor and some surrounding houses. The newly created creek area was designated as a nature reserve. Further on you pass the Plompetoren and look out over the Oosterschelde. Westerschouwen Forestry is the largest forest in Zeeland, it was planted at the beginning of the twentieth century as part of job creation. Via charming Burgh-Haamstede you drive to the dunes on the north side of Schouwen-Duiveland. The route ends at Fietsverhuur Renesse.
