Day 1:
De Lutte to Bad Bentheim:\\\'Orange Route\\\'
The Orange Route is approximately 2900km long and connects castles, fortresses and places that... have a historical connection with the House of Orange-Nassau. A part of this route is on the program today.
We also cycle via junctions and route signs to Bad Bentheim
The Bentheim region, the Grafschaft Bentheim, was supplier of the Bentheim sandstone with which the Palace on Dam Square was built in 1648 as the city hall of Amsterdam. The Bentheimers have made good money from it, reportedly. Nowadays Bad Bentheim is a popular place for a tourist visit with its medieval castle, the spa with healing springs, the open-air theater and the various museums. The House of Orange was familiar with Bad Bentheim as a health resort. Queen Emma's sister, Pauline, lived in the castle.
In Gildehaus, not far from the cycle route, there is a geological open-air museum. There is also the Ostmühle of Gildehaus, which stands on top of the Mühlenberg.

After Knpt 77 dir. Knpt 80. Cross'main road\\\' Rheinerstraβe and take the 3rd left (Wilhelmstraβe). Drive out of Wilhelmstrβe, continue along the promenade until you reach Schloβstraβe.
ON THE RIGHT and a little further is the Grossfeld hotel.
