From Rijsbergen you can take a beautiful trip through the rural area below Breda. You will pass through Strijbeek, among other places. In this border village you pass several long-fronted farms and the Sint-Hubertus Chapel. This monument originally dates from 1518, but was rebuilt in 1872. Further on you drive through a number of hamlets and cycle through the Prinsenbos, the Sint-Annabos and the Ulvenhoutse Bos. Some plots in this extensive nature reserve are centuries old! The Mastbos is one of the oldest cultivated forests in the Netherlands. In 1515, Count Henry III of Nassau had the then heathland planted with seeds of Scots pine from Germany. The trunks were used to make ship masts. Just before Rijsbergen you cycle through the Vloeiweide, a damp estate.
