Tour Wijnandsrade, Valkenburg and Ulestraten

Your route starts at Brasserie De Muldermolen. Let yourself be carried away through peaks and valleys, from one striking place in history to another, past Wijnandsrade, Valkenburg and Ulestraten. The route takes you through the Ravensbosch, which is located between Valkenburg aan de Geul and Nuth. In the past, Roman villas stood here. The slope forest consists mainly of coppice and oak trees. In the lower areas you will find ash trees, lovely waters and mysterious swamp areas. The ruins of Ter Borgh Castle were once an old moated castle, the residential tower of which was located on a raised island behind the current building complex. Around the eighteenth century, members of the well-known gang of goat riders were imprisoned here. The pulleys at the entrance gate served to raise the drawbridge.
