Brabant hamlets and the Strabrechtse Heide

You'll cycle a beautiful rural route through the charming Brabant village of Maarheeze and various nature reserves. The Somerense Heide consists largely of reclaimed heathland; like the De Vroolijke Jager nature reserve, the conifers here have been planted on former heathland. Shortly after Someren, you'll enter one of Brabant's natural gems: the Strabrechtse Heide. This vast expanse of heather and bell heather is dotted with several beautiful and tranquil fens. You might even encounter a shepherd with his Kempen Heath sheep. You'll continue cycling past Heeze Castle, beautifully situated in the countryside. The 18th-century interior is still almost completely intact. You'll cycle back to your starting point via the charming hamlet of Leenderstrijp.
