Mierlo and the Strabrechtse Heide

From the parking lot you first cycle to Mierlo. In the Dorpsstraat you will pass the old town hall from 1806 and a beautiful flour mill. Just past junction 32 you cycle a bit through Sang en Goorkens, a small-scale cultural area that consists of a mix of alder forests, sparse grasslands, poplars and oaks. Then it is time to explore the Strabrechtse Heide from the saddle: the largest heathland in the South of the Netherlands. In addition to heathland, you will also find fens and coniferous forests here. And plenty of silence! In between you can stop for a pit stop on the cozy terrace of Boscafe van Moorsel. Back on the Strabrechtse Heide you can take a look at the vast Beuven. Finally, you cycle through Molenheide, a nature reserve where mainly pine trees grow.
