Meinweg Tour: along the Rolvennen

Your route starts at Camping De Meinweg - Huttopia. The route takes you through National Park De Meinweg where you will find a unique and varied plateau landscape in the Netherlands. These terraces were created over tens of thousands of years by the erosion of the Meuse and three fault lines in the earth's crust. You cycle along dense old forests and stream valleys. This is the only area in Limburg where you will find the adder, you may see it sunbathing. You will pass a beautiful spot: the Rolvennen. The southern Rolven is separated from the northern Rolven by a sand ridge. Vaulted fens like this are a rare phenomenon in the Netherlands. On the way back, stop by the De Meinweg Visitor Centre to learn more about this special area!
