Tour of Groote Vloedgraven and Boxbergen

Your route starts at Het Wapen Van Wesepe. You first take a nice tour around the Groote Vloedgraven. A few years ago, a lot of work was done here to improve the water storage to prevent possible flooding. The natural values have also been increased by the construction of fish passages and vegetation. Nice to take a look! On your route you will also find the manor and Boxbergen estate. Forestry, livestock farming and recreation still take place in the relief-rich cover sand area. The history of the house dates back at least to 1344, when it first appeared in the archives. The house was rebuilt between 1650 and 1653 after a fire. It then had seven facades with hundreds of windows: one of the largest houses in the region!
