Tour of Linge from Leerdam to Mariënwaerdt

Your route starts at BY't VEER. A ferry takes you across the Waal. Further on you pass through the Lingebos recreational area. You drive through the vast polders to the picturesque heart of Leerdam. Here you can enjoy cycling along the Linge. From the dike you look out over the flower-rich grasslands and fruit orchards along the river. The area is known for fairytale orchards and picturesque dike villages. In Acquoy, time seems to have stood still a bit. Here you see a fifteenth-century church tower that is slightly out of plumb. In Rhenoy you will pass the striking white plastered village church, some parts date from the fifteenth century. After the picturesque Beesd you will be presented with the Heerlijkheid Mariënwaerdt with its many monumental buildings.
