Round Rhenen

The walking route starts at Residence Rhenen, located on the road between Veenendaal and Elst. The à la carte Restaurant de Rotisserie is housed in the former Orangerie. Nice place to start with a nice cup of coffee and/or tea with something tasty. De Heuvelrug is the largest forest area in the Netherlands after the Veluwe. You now see a small part of this beautiful park, but you can explore a much larger part by bike. Halfway along, on your left is the Kwintelooyen sand excavation, which is now used as a day recreation area. Notice how beautiful your view is over the Gelderse Vallei. From there you walk through the forest at altitude, alternating between long beech avenues and dense pine forests. You return to your starting point via this beautiful green forest.
