Art, culture, literature and nature (5 km)

At Hotel Van der Valk, stroll from the main entrance along the walkways via the east side, Elzenpadje, Buitenstal, red tractor, Wilgenweide to the white gate at the intersection of De groen Voorsprong with the Barnewinkel.

From this point we follow the Barnewinkel in a westerly direction to De Boommarter. Here we turn right and follow this road until Laan van de Zonnehoeve. Here we turn left and immediately on the left on the corner is the 1st mini library on the route"Minibieb Zonnehoeve\\\" (Laan van de Zonnehoeve 181). Feel free to browse around for a nice book. If you can't find what you were looking for, don't worry, there are 3 more mini libraries on the route.

After the mini library we go back in a northerly direction and turn right into De Wezel. There we find the next mini library at number 8. From here we go via the public playground to the Hermelijn. From the Hermelijn we turn right towards Groot Schuylenburg. At Groot Schuylenburg you can visit the paper shop (www.vuur-winkel.nl, open Mon-Fri 8:30 am-5:00 pm) or Brasserie (open Mon-Thurs 10:00 am-4:00 pm and Fri 10:00 am: 00-19:00). 

The next stop is the De Kakelhoeve farm (open Mon-Fri 9:00 am-3:30 pm) followed by the Hannah path. From here we continue along the Laan van Groot Schuylenburg eastwards to the pedestrian and cyclist crossing at Zutphensestraat. 

NB: As you can discover along the route, there is a lot of room for art and the history of Groot Schuylenbrug.  At this point you can add an extra round of Groot Schuylenburg to the route (an audio tour of this is also available via www.ab75.nl)

Here we cross the street and immediately turn left and then take the first road on the right and then right again. At Myrtillushof 36 we find the 3rd mini library on the route; mini library't Zonnetje. From here we continue via the Vossenbeshof, the Hovenlaan to Houttuinen-oost. Here we find the last mini library on the route at number 70. From here you walk via the Mariëlle park to the traffic lights at Zutphensestraat and return to the starting point of this route.
