Tour of Sneek from Grou

Your route starts at Zeilcentrum Grou Meet&Eat. Grou is a beautiful old town on the Pikmeer, one of the Frisian Lakes. You can admire the Romanesque thirteenth-century St. Peter's Church there. Then you cycle along the Sneekermeer with all its sailing boats to Sneek. Be sure to get off here to soak up the atmosphere. One of the oldest sights is the Martinikerk, which was built on a mound with tuff stone in the eleventh century. The current building dates from 1498. In the bell house next to the church, two centuries-old bells from 1466 and 1543 still hang. In the village of IJsbrechtum you pass the Epemastate. The stins originally dates from 1625. Through small Frisian villages such as Reduzum you meander through the vast countryside, along various waterways.
