Tour of Pikmeer and Sneekermeer

Exploring the water sports areas of Friesland. Sometimes you see boats sliding straight through the meadows here - it seems like there are so many canals here! Your route starts at Pavilion PrikMar. Grou is a beautiful old town on the Pikmeer, one of the Frisian Lakes. You can admire, among other things, the Romanesque thirteenth-century St. Peter's Church. You take a tour around the lake to the water sports village of Akkrum. Then you cycle along the Sneekermeer with all its sailing boats. Terherne (or Terhorne) is located on the corner of a reclaimed land from the twelfth century. The children's book series De Kameleon is said to have been set here. Through small Frisian villages such as Jirnsum you meander through the vast countryside, along various canals where you often see boats passing by. Wonderfully relaxing!
