Walking tour Slinge and Meibeek South-West of Borculo

Nice route along typical Achterhoek landscape, largely along the river Slinge and the Meibeek. Scenic landscape with wooded areas, hedgerows, meadows and many unpaved roads. Start: at Slinge around Wessel van Eylllaan 19, Borculo. At the extreme southern part of the route, a path runs through a damp nature reserve. Be careful, because the path is not very clearly marked. It can be boggy here (usually no problems with good walking shoes), but it is certainly a beautiful part of the route. Once you reach the Meibeek, you can also choose a path through Landgoed de Kooi, which runs through an elongated forest edge parallel to the Meibeek. Where the route from the Meibeek returns towards the Slinge (to the east), you can continue along narrow walking paths (partly through meadows) along the Meibeek; first along the left bank to the Vosheuvelweg, and then again along the right bank; here are even some of the most beautiful spots along the route! So follow the Meibeek to the Kaapdijk, turn right there and follow it until you are back on the indicated route. You can also turn left to Karnebeeksteeg and then turn right to follow Wessel van Eylllaan to the starting point.
