Tour Planken Jambuis and Doorwerth Castle

Your route starts at Boscafé De Beken. Near Wageningen you will discover the Belmonte Estate, now the Belmonte Arboretum botanical garden. Due to its unique location on top of a moraine, you can enjoy surprising views over the Lower Rhine and the characteristic landscape of the Betuwe. Then you drive along the rolling Ginkelse Heide. On the other side of the cycle path is the Sysselt, a vast forest area. You also drive through the woods of Planken Wambuis. On the way back you cycle along the floodplains of the Lower Rhine. Here you can fully enjoy beautiful views over the water. Nearby you will discover the beautiful Doorwerth Castle, a beautiful example of a moated castle, where the thick outer walls together with the water provide protection.
