Kessel

The old Maasdorp is located between Venlo and Roermond. Kessel is located in a very beautiful area with lots to do. During this route you will encounter two very beautiful sights, namely Kasteel de Keverberg and Kasteel Oeverberg. These two castles are definitely worth a visit. On the historic square of Kasteel de Keverberg you can also relax on a terrace and enjoy the beautiful view at the same time.

Keverberg Castle - Kessel

You will pass Kasteel de Keverberg during your walk. A visit to this unique thousand-year-old castle is definitely worthwhile. Unique because of its historic and contemporary appearance and the beautiful location on the Maas. Start the adventure in the cellar vaults and listen to the story of De Keverberg. Then explore the building up to the Zusterskap, more than 30 meters above Maaspeil, with an amazing view over the Kessel country! Enjoy a delicious cup of coffee with something tasty on the Maas terrace or in the courtyard. The castle lady gives you a warm welcome.

Castle Museum Oeverberg - Kessel

Huis de Oeverberg was built in 1870-1872 by the last resident of De Keverberg Castle, Baron Frits. He wanted to escape the loneliness of the castle and therefore had this castle-like villa built.
He lived there for another six years until his death. Both the inside and outside of the castle have been almost returned to their original state. Veersepad 17, Kessel
