With this cycle route through central Drenthe you will get to know the province well. You will get to know the typical Drenthe brink village Westerbork and the beautiful surroundings.
Westerbork
You cycle through the Heart of Drenthe, a mosaic of forests, heathlands and flowery stream valleys. It is wonderfully quiet here, ideal for a day of relaxation.
Grolloo
Just after junction 83 you will pass the water plan de Kleine Moere. On and around this lake lies the first and one of the largest climbing parks in the Netherlands: a challenge full of peaks! Grolloo is a beautiful esdorp, you can admire some beautiful Saxon farms. Further on you will come to the Grolloërveen where you will see an old-fashioned tjasker that was used in the past to drain fens for the benefit of peat cutting.
