Description
With this cycle route straight through central Drenthe you will get to know the province well. You will be introduced to the typical Drenthe village of Westerbork and its beautiful surroundings.
Westerbork
You cycle through the Heart of Drenthe, a mosaic of forests, heathlands and flowery stream valleys. It is wonderfully quiet here, ideal for a day of relaxation.
Grolloo
Just after junction 83 you pass the Kleine Moere water plan. The first and one of the largest climbing parks in the Netherlands are located on and around this lake: a challenge full of peaks! Grolloo is a beautiful esdorp, where you can admire some beautiful Saxon farms. Further on you enter the Grolloërveen and you will see an old-fashioned tjasker that was previously used for draining fens for peat cutting.
