Description
Near Bussloo in Gelderland you can enjoy cycling along the water. When the weather is nice, the recreational lake is often filled with swimmers, surfers, canoeists, pedal boaters and divers. Get off your bike to swim in the recreational lake or enjoy the view from the bank of the lake. The route also takes you past fields, meadows and wet grasslands.
Spotting windmills and planes
At the start of the route you pass the Wilpermolen. It is one of the largest and oldest mills in Eastern Netherlands. From the ground to the axle head the height is approximately 18 meters. That height makes the mill impressive to see. A little further along the route you cycle past Teuge airport. Airplanes regularly fly over here and occasionally you even see paratroopers making a jump.

Primeval forest under construction
At junction 96 you arrive at the Beekbergerwoud. The last primeval forest in the Netherlands was located here, but the forest was cleared in 1871. Natuurmonumenten is now trying to revive the forest by purchasing land and planting it. Furthermore, a new swamp forest is being constructed in the meadow area on both sides of the A50 highway. In this way, Natuurmonumenten tries to restore the elements of the old landscape to their former glory. The landscape surrounding the forest consists of characteristic farmland. In the spring you can find a wide variety of flowers here.
