Cycling route through North Holland fortified towns

From the parking lot you enter the first fortified town on your route: Muiden. Here you can visit Muiderslot, one of the most beautiful castles in the Netherlands. Then you cycle through the polder to Muiderberg. Climb up the dike for a view over the IJmeer. You drive through the Naarderbos to the old fortress of Naarden. Get off here to enjoy the historic atmosphere before continuing to the Spanderswoud nature reserve. In Ankeveen you can get off for a cozy terrace at Restaurant 1244. You drive a bit along the former church path to Nederhorst den Berg, after which you cycle along the meandering Vecht to Weesp. Here you can take a look at the Fort on the Ossenmarkt, among other things, before you return to Muiden.
