Cycling route through North Holland fortified towns

From the parking lot you enter the first fortified town on your route: Muiden. Here you can visit the Muiderslot, one of the most beautiful castles in the Netherlands. Then you cycle through the polder to Muiderberg. Climb the dike for a view over the IJmeer. Through the Naarderbos you cycle to the old fortress of Naarden. Get off here to enjoy the historical atmosphere, before you continue to the Spanderswoud nature reserve. In Ankeveen you can get off for a cozy terrace at Restaurant 1244. You cycle a bit on the former church path to Nederhorst den Berg, after which you cycle along the meandering Vecht to Weesp. Here you can take a look at the Fort aan de Ossenmarkt, among other things, before you return to Muiden.
