Tour of the temptations of the Vecht region

Your route starts at Dairy Farm & Camping Doornenbal. If you drive along the Vecht, you will understand why wealthy Amsterdam merchants had their summer residence built here in the seventeenth century. Sometimes the park forests on these country estates obscure the view of the meadows behind them, so that you suddenly drive through a kind of bocage landscape. No worries, because north of Vreeland you can fully enjoy the open view. You will also experience the vastness of these former peat bogs when you drive through the Loosdrechtse Plassen and along the Spiegelplas. The reclamation took a lot of blood, sweat and tears, but now you can enjoy the rippling water and the reed collars here. In between you drive through the Spanderwoud where nature is allowed to take its own course and thus creates the feeling of a primeval forest.
