Tour of the temptations of the Vecht region

Your route starts at Melkveehouderij & Camping Doornenbal. If you drive along the Vecht, you will understand why wealthy Amsterdam merchants had their summer residences built here in the seventeenth century. Sometimes the park forests on these country estates obscure the view of the meadows behind them, so that you suddenly drive through a kind of bocage landscape. Don't worry, because north of Vreeland you can fully enjoy the open view. Even when you drive through the Loosdrechtse Plassen and along the Spiegelplas, you experience the vastness of these former peat bogs. The reclamation cost a lot of blood, sweat and tears, now you can enjoy the rippling water and the reed beds here. In between you drive through the Spanderwoud where nature can take its own course and thus create the feeling of a primeval forest.
