Tour of Keutenberg, Castle Genhoes and orchid valley Gerendal

Your route starts at Hotel Bemelmans Keutenberg. You climb up the slope of the Keutenberg. At the top you can enjoy the breathtaking view. Today you will also discover the idyllic Gerendal, one of the most beautiful places in South Limburg. Many types of orchids bloom in the grasslands in May and June. During this slightly hilly walk you walk through the beautiful Gerendal with its orchid garden and forestry. Don't forget to take pictures of this beautiful area! Along the way you will see - in addition to the beautiful landscape - also a very special historical spot. Genhoes Castle is the ancestral castle of the Lords of Valkenburg. There was already a castle on this location around the year 1000, but the current buildings date from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The castle farm is located outside the moat.
