ECKTIV Suggestion: Walk's Gravenland Country Estates extra

> Starting point: start and end point is the Gooilust estate (driveway near point 77). There are a limited number of parking spaces on the driveway of the estate. You can also park along the street at Zuidereinde (near the driveway entrance). This route is based on the Gooise Buitenplaats walking route of Natuurmonumenten, but we have added some surprising excursions. You suddenly find yourself walking along a narrow path between centuries-old agricultural lands (with a good chance of spotting deer) or through the dark Spanderswoud. You will come across many beautifully landscaped water features that sometimes give you the feeling of walking abroad. . You almost literally wind through and past the estates. Sometimes you walk along wide avenues, other times along a hidden winding path between centuries-old trees. The variation is great, in the view but also in the details that the former estate owners have added to their parks. Enjoy a bench, read the information boards with nice background information and take your time to look at the relief around you. Also take a trip to the Zanderij sculpture garden near point 32. If you want a shorter walk, you can take shortcuts here and there at your own discretion. Some of the catering establishments mentioned are open seasonally. About halfway up you can eat and drink at the Natuurmonumenten visitor center (point 82 on the route) all year round. NB! You walk a number of parts on the way there and back, check the map for the right direction (e.g. at points 78, 31 and 18).
