Tour of Het Lankheet and Oostendorper Watermolen

This walking route starts at Camping Scholtenhagen. Nearby you will discover Het Lankheet Estate. The history of this 500 hectare estate dates back to 1188! Here you can still see an old farm landscape with ash trees, hedgerows and coppice groves. Characteristic are the extensive forests with scattered heathlands. You will also pass beautiful places such as the Oostendorper Watermolen, a double water wheel mill on the Buursebeek. The original Oostendorper mill was built in 1548, it dates from 1950. The building replaced another mill that stood upstream at the Vedderbrug and served faithfully for a long time. In 1948 the mill was destroyed by a storm surge, but the current, authentic-looking mill building was soon completed. This mill also grinds grain and beats oil, and flour is sold at the mill.
