ECKTIV Suggestion: Walk along the Vecht, Vreeland-Nieuwersluis vv

> Starting point: start and end point is the white bridge over the Vecht in Vreeland (near Hotel de Nederlanden) where you can park in the surrounding streets. This is the Vecht at its best and a feast for the eyes. Route largely paved but quiet. Beautiful gardens (with tea houses) and stately buildings, intimate villages and cozy restaurants. Enjoy the liveliness with the many boats on the Vecht in good weather. But also of the silence on a beautiful autumn or winter day. Don't walk the route too fast! The IJsvogelpad and Jaagpad are narrow historic paths right along the water. Restaurants can be found in Loenen aan de Vecht near the church, including around the intersection Molendijk/Kerkstraat. At the end of the Jaagpad you will find the picnic tables of Fruitboer Ouderhoek in the summer. Walk onto the grounds for fresh fruit (cherries!) or an ice cream. The turning point is Nieuwersluis, which also has catering facilities and the unmissable women's prison. Our favorite place to stop is the Mijnden lock, where it is bustling during the sailing season. A musician can play there just like that and you can have a drink (watch cash!). The place to watch boats and people. The stretch on the east side of the Vecht back towards Vreeland offers beautiful views of the meadows and Vechtplassen. NB! Routiq's tips are not always correct with the map, so stick to the map and description. Some of the aforementioned catering establishments are closed in the winter.
