Haarlemmermeer, North Holland, The Netherlands

From here you can easily walk to two adjacent nature reserves: the Houtrak and the Geuzenbos. Put on your walking shoes for an invigorating and varied route. The Geuzenbos was created in the Groote IJpolder. In this unspoilt natural gem you will find a lot of variety. There are hawthorns, willows, birches and oaks. There are also flowery grasslands. The Geuzenbos may be located under the proverbial smoke of Amsterdam, but it is remarkably quiet. A little further on you will come across the Zijkanaal F. This canal once connected the port of Halfweg with the North Sea Canal. There are now many houseboats on the water. The Houtrak is part of the Spaarnwoude nature and recreation area. Here you walk through a mosaic of forest, flowery roughs and waterways.
Tour tip; Hiking with kids! Routes up to 5 km are ideal
