Tour of the Groot Warnsborn estate and sheep drift

Your walk starts at EuroParcs De Hooge Veluwe. From here you walk to the Groot Warnsborn Estate, built on a moraine. Here you will find B14 - Arnhem - Warnsborn Estate. It is first mentioned in the 15th century. It grows into a stately country retreat with a chapel, coach house, park and orangery. During WWII the country house went up in flames, but it was rebuilt afterwards. You also walk along the Schaapsdrift. The straight route of the heath strip is not surprising: it used to be the Harderwijkerweg here, as can be seen on a map from 1580. You can immediately see that sheep can indeed roam here from the swinging gates you encounter along the way. You walk back straight through the woods.
