Description

Your route starts at EuroParcs Beekbergen. From here you can easily walk to the Loenense waterfall: the highest waterfall in the Netherlands. This reduces the current in the Vrijenbergerspreng, which has a drop of about 15 meters over a length of 6.5 km. Special to see! After a coffee break at Visitor Center Open Erf-De Groote Modderkolk, you pass Castle Ter Horst, hidden in the woods. Around 1557, Wijnand Hackfort, the then mayor of Arnhem, had his summer and hunting residence built here. The castle remained in this noble family for seven generations. The castle is privately owned. On the other side of the village of Loenen you can dive into nature again: you can walk straight into the Veluwe forests. You walk back to your starting point via the Vrijenbergerspreng.
