Description
Via the course of the IJssel you cycle through a beautiful coulisse landscape to Doesburg. In the historic centre of this old Hanseatic city you will find De Waag, a beer house that was already in use in 1478. After crossing the IJssel you cycle into the Veluwezoom National Park, a hilly area with an unprecedented diversity of coniferous and deciduous trees and heather species. This is the habitat of red deer, wild boar, badgers, kingfishers and nightjars. With around 160 inhabitants and city rights since 1344, Bronkhorst is the smallest town in the Netherlands. It has more the appearance of a picturesque village, with authentic farms and a beautiful location in the middle of farmlands. Be sure to get off here!
