Tour of Hezingen, Tubbergen and Fleringen

Your route starts at Restaurant & Pancake House Watermolen Bels. You first cycle towards Ootmarsum. This landscape along the German border in the triangle Vasse, Ootmarsum and Uelsen was formed by an ice age moraine, giving the landscape a hilly character. Water mills were built in the stream valleys. There are still several old water mills in this corner of Twente. After just a few kilometers you will pass the nature reserve'het Springendal\\\' where there are various sources that feed these streams. This beautiful area is nicknamed 'The Garden of the Netherlands'. The route goes through the very pleasant town of Tubbergen. The village was traditionally very Catholic, which you would not actually expect in this region. The St. Pancratius Basilica, a neo-Gothic church, still occupies an important place.
