. Under the Maasbrug (the
) we have a good view over the lock complex. [Who wants could also take some pictures from the bridge itself...]
Under the bridge we turn right to the
Veerstraat . This turns into the
Kleefse Veerstraat . We walk past the
Hertog van Parmapad to be able to see the
Kroonwerk Coehoorn a little further, also on the left, which was part of the Zuiderwaterlinie. It is not clear what this can be seen from the road. There are now bushes on the spot where the crown work used to be and from the air it is impressive. There is a lot of history behind it! Also take a look at the other side of the Maas, because that's where
Grave is located.
We walk along the old water line and then turn left (so continue to follow the
Kleefse Veerstraat ). Then turn right on the
Uiterdijksestraat and after 100m turn left on the
Oude Veerstraat . In a bend a little further in that road you can see a small lake. At the end of the
Oude Veerstraat turn left and cross the road after 100m. Then we walk along a path along a slightly larger lake or pond. It must be nice to take some pictures there again, with the
Maasmolen on the other side.
The latter path leads to the
Broekstraat (
N846 ), the main road from the
N234 to Heumen.
We continue our route through the
Hollestraat , to turn right after 600m, into the
Kerkelaantje . We walk past the
H. Antonius Abt church (
photo moment ) of Nederasselt and end up at the
Broekstraat again . We follow it and cross the
Graafseweg (
N234 ). On the other side it is called the
Eindsestraat , where
Restaurant Vesta is located a little further on the left.
