Description
Your route starts at Boerderij 't Geertje, where you can immediately take something tasty with you for the road. Historic farms, beautiful lakes... This beautiful watery route takes you along the water, through typical Dutch landscapes: the Groene Hart through and through! Along the Weipoortse Vliet you will see the impressive seventeenth-century farms of the hamlet of Weipoort. The beautiful village church of Hazerswoude-Dorp dates from 1646. The Zoetermeerse Plas has a deepest point of 40 meters, it is an old sand extraction. Now you have a wonderful view over the rippling water. On the north side of the lake you walk through the Prielenbos, a nice rough swamp forest. It is known for its many bird species, can you hear them? If you walk here around dusk, you might spot one of the owls!
