Tour Einde Gooi and Zwarte Berg

Your route starts at Restaurant De Egelshoek. From here you can walk straight onto the Einde Gooi estate. In 1852, several pieces of forest were combined and the current nature reserve was created. The area included a farm, Blokhoven, on the Utrechtseweg and the lock keeper's house on the Tienhovens canal. The farm on the Noodweg burned down a few years later. Klein Einde Gooi was built here, a large mansion with farm in the heart of the estate. On the way to the Zwarte Berg nature reserve you will pass the end point of the straight Tienhovens Kanaal. This canal should have connected the Utrechtse Vecht with the then Zuiderzee, but the Gooise moraines threw a spanner in the works. Now you can fully enjoy the height difference, heather and pine trees!
