The starting point of this route, located on the Pietersheim estate, features a brasserie and an information center about the Hoge Kempen National Park beyond. Bring your own bike and park in the free parking lot of the petting zoo. Don't have a bike? No need to worry! There's a bike rental station on the estate with a wide selection of both city bikes and electric bikes. From here, your route begins, leading you through this beautiful region of Limburg. Along the way, nature will treat you to a palette of diverse landscapes. You'll even find a bit of history thanks to the presence of the old moated castle. The ramparts and inner moat of this impressive castle ruin are still clearly recognizable. You'll also see the chapel, which dates back to the fourteenth century. Of course, there's so much more to discover. Because the Pietersheim Estate is one of the gateways to the Hoge Kempen National Park, there's something for everyone. Even mountain bikers can enjoy the 200km of unpaved trails to their heart's content.
