Memories of the Second World War
Just before the hamlet of Gaal you cycle past the Nooit Gedacht mill, of which nothing more is left than the stone hull. This region was the scene of airborne landings in 1944, during the Second World War. Just below Reek you will pass a listening point of the Liberation Route, where you can hear an impressive story about the Second World War. Just before you cycle back into Zeeland, you will pass the St.Victor mill, a windmill.

The Heische Tip
The De Heische Tip recreation park is the start and end point of the route. This campsite is located on a recreational lake with a beautiful sandy beach. The restaurant terrace is located right on the water, a wonderful place to have a cup of coffee. You can fill your belly here with tasty camping food such as fries with a snack, but you can also enjoy more luxurious dinners. It just depends on what you're in the mood for.

Recreation area'De Kuilen\\\'
The recreational area'De Kuilen\\\' is located approximately two-thirds of the way along the route. It consists of a number of ponds that were created by sand excavations for the brick factory. You can enjoy water sports in this area and there is a large beach for swimming and sunbathing. The area is very interesting archaeologically. This is where the so-called green sand is extracted, which dates from the Miocene and Pliocene. Green sand contains the mineral glauconite. All kinds of fossils can be found in this sand, such as bird bones, shark teeth and even ear bones of dolphin species that must have lived here in the past.
