Castle Route Land of the Glories

Your route starts at Hill\\\'s. This route takes you through part of the Gelderland River area. From the winding dike you have a beautiful view of the Afferdense and Deestse Waarden, a nature reserve rich in water and birds. On the edge of Ewijk you pass the fourteenth-century Doddendael Castle. The Land of Delights Visitor Center can be found in the Leur bakery. The monumental Flemish barn with a historic oven tells the story of the delights in the land of Maas and Waal. An area full of castles, lords and knights, but also special animals and plants. You drive back through Hernen. Around the St. Judocus Church from 1893, you can still experience the atmosphere of a bygone era thanks to the old farms and the beautiful castle.
